Most routine lab and test results are reported back to us within 3-4 days when done through our reference laboratory. Pathology reports and PAP smears can take up to two weeks. Once we have received the reports, they are processed and sent to your doctor for review and follow-up. In general, your physician will either call you personally or instruct one of our professional staff to communicate the results to you.
If, after 5 days you have NOT yet heard or been given the results of your routine labs, or after 2 weeks for PAP and pathology results, please contact us and we should be able to provide you with the status of your test results.
Most of our simple laboratory tests including urine analysis, blood counts, microscopic exams, and rapid tests for pregnancy, influenza, and strep are done in our office laboratory.
Our practice has an affiliation with Labcorp- one of the best, most highly regarded and professional reference laboratories worldwide. We typically have accurate and reference-quality results transmitted back to us within 24-72 hours, and PAP smears and dermatopathology reports from biopsies within 1-2 weeks.
